Duke of Edinburgh Award

Castle Bromwich explorer units offer young people the chance to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme. The award is an internationally recognised accheivement and is highly thought of by employers in the uk.  Here you will find all the information you need to help you through the award.

The Aim of the Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award aims to provide for young people an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme of personal development, which is of the highest quality and the widest reach.

It is essential for everyone involved in the Award, whether as a participant or leader, to share a common understanding of the principles which underpin all aspects of the Programme's delivery. Please click Here to see the key principles.

The Award @ 237th

The award is open to all in the Explorer units and we provide an informative and varied programme to help you get the most out of the award.

There are some dates which we have in mind for the expeditions this year.

16-18 March - Chase walk.

20-22 April - Bronze practice.  (This will be changing due to a clash with the groups anniversary.)

4-7 May - Silver & Gold practice.

12-16 July - Silver & Gold assessed.

17-19 August - Bronze assessed.
