As a group we aim to offer our members experiences they have never had before. Every two years since 1997 we have taken a group of Scouts and Explorers abroad for an action packed 10 day holiday. Our first trip was to the Gorge du Tarn area of southern France. We have also ran trips to the Lech Valley in Austria, Adelboden in Switzerland, Pula in Croatia, Prague in the Czech Republic and Barcelona in Spain.
The County have also offered winter holidays to Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland. These trips allow Scouts to try their hand at skiing, snowboarding, show shoeing and other winter sports.
Every four years the World Scout Jamboree takes place, the most recent of which was in 2011 in Sweden. As a group we have been lucky enough to have representatives, both Scouts and Leaders, at all of the Jamborees since 1987 visiting locations such as Australia, South Korea, Holland, Chile, Thailand, England and Sweden. The next Jamboree will be in Japan in 2015.
